Blending & Hiding
--On any given mission,
or in a fugitive situation, it could be imperitive that you are not
identified. Whether it be a simple balaclava, a ski mask, or an elaborate
makeover, different situations call for different disguises. The book
to read on disguises is, "Methods of Disguise," by John Sample. Most
of the advice contained in this book is simple, common sense. Nevertheless,
you would be amazed, if you ever watch true crime shows or read true
crime books, how utterly stupid some people are. So I won't leave anything
out. The majority of criminals who are busted make huge errors in judgement.
Simple things, like covering up their face, wearing gloves, changing
license plates, using stolen cars for the crimes ect. would insure their
freedom. Most of these errors can be prevented by CAREFUL PLANNING.
The following are my notes
from the book "Methods of Disguise":
K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple
Stupid) disguises are best
Adding or shaving a beard
Changing the style of facial hair
Changing the style of hair
Gaining or losing significant amounts of weight
Clothing changes
Eyeglasses combined with Baseball caps do a good job of covering up
hair and facial features.
Props complete the disguise;
Example: If you are in a business district carry a briefcase, and wear
a business suit. The brief case can also be used to carry guns, tools,
disguises ect.
Wigs can be cut to shape,
natural hair is best, different adhesives to keep wigs on are available.
Hair spray keeps the wigs in shape. Spirit gum and double faced tape
are used as adhesives. These products can be purchased from 'Bob Kelly's
Cosmetics and Wigs' do a search for their products on the internet.
Mouth inserts can change
facial features. Either cotton, placstic, rubber or even wadded newspaper
can be used to swell cheek contours and if placed under the palate,
even change voice pitch.
Nostrel inserts made of
cork, rubber or plastic widen the nose, changing racial type & allow
normal breathing. Dark makeup, and hair dye can complete the disguise.
Padded clothing adds dozens
of pounds. Giving the appearance of being overweight.
Fake tattoos and fake scars
give a good false I.D.
Gloves are a must
Lifts in shoes/boots can
add a couple inches to your height
With the correct disguise
a 150 lb 5'8" white male, could have the authorities looking for a 5'10"
200lb hispanic male with (fake but they won't know) gang tattoos all
over his body.
Fake tattoos can be purchased
online or at different stores. They can even be made with pens. Make
sure to cover the fake tattoo with baby power in order to make it look
as real as possible.
Note: Ski masks, and balaclavas
can be bought from numerous army/navy surplus catalogs and websites.
Just type in 'army navy' surplus in any search engine. www.fatiguesarmynavy.com
is a business I recommend.
BLENDING IN
If there is one thing you
don't want to do, it is stick out. There are two points to blending
in
1. Fitting in with the
crowd/locale
2. Not standing out
Simple right? This applies
to clothes, speech, manners, and vehicles. Taking the time to make sure
you will not stand out in the particular area you will be in will assure
as few people as possible will stare very hard at you. Here is an example
of NOT blending in with the area; Driving through a Jewish neighborhood
with the bumper sticker "Hitler was right". violates both these rules.
When someone is one the
run the best place to live is in a large apartment complex that frequently
changes renters. No one pays attention to anyone in these complexes
since renters come and go so quickly. They do not get to know there
neighbors and they stick to themselves. While on the run, do not enter
or leave when many other residents do (morning for work, and afternoon)
to avoid being seen by many people.
Park your car several blocks
away from your residence. This assures that when the police come to
interview your neighbors they will have no idea what you looked like
or what kind of car you drove.
CAMOUFLAGE
Its often better to appear
you belong in an environment then to try and be completely concealed.
Again, be a human chameleon. The best CIA operatives are those who are
plain looking. They are someone whom people will not be inclined to
look twice at.
Together, camoflage and
blending techniques will help make you invisible in almost any setting.
The keys are choosing appropriate garb and acting the part. Get into
the character you are supposed to be. Practice looking, walking, and
talking like a phone repair man if that's what your suppose to be. Or
if your suppose to be a business man don't walk around scratching your
balls and shave off that ghoatee. Got it?

and hiding Kenn Abaygo has a few books out available on amazon.com,
